Youth Editing & Meeting Mayor Patrick Brown at Brampton City Hall

The last 2 days of the Pocket Film journey brought participants to Brampton City Hall, where they edited their projects and met Mayor Patrick Brown. It was a powerful moment recognizing their hard work and creativity.

The same youth who once hesitated to touch a camera were now refining their own films, adjusting sound, cutting scenes, and finalizing their stories for public screening.

The meeting with the Mayor symbolized something deeper: an acknowledgment that Muslim youth belong at every table, including in the city’s cultural and civic spaces.

Through this partnership with the City of Brampton, Muslim Media Hub is helping young people find their voices, claim their narratives, and contribute to the creative life of our city.

This is the beginning of something much bigger: a generation of Muslim filmmakers telling stories that matter.
