Groundbreaking Ceremony for Amir Specialty Poultry’s Halal Processing Facility


Amir Specialty Poultry recently celebrated a major milestone with the groundbreaking of its 80,000 sq. ft. primary processing facility in Arthur, Ontario. This event marks the launch of Canada’s first Muslim-owned, federally licensed halal processing plant, a significant step forward for the Muslim community and halal industry.


For the team behind Amir Specialty Poultry, this facility represents a vision long in the making. When the Aziz family first joined the business, halal options were limited, and the community relied heavily on external supply chains. Now, by establishing a local facility dedicated exclusively to halal meat, they aim to set new standards of quality and food safety, bringing state-of-the-art technology and a commitment to excellence to the Canadian halal market.


This facility is more than just a plant; it’s an investment in the local community. By providing job opportunities for residents of Wellington North and beyond, Amir Specialty Poultry will have a positive impact on the local economy while fulfilling an important need for high-quality halal meat.
