Muslims in Canada: Stories, Then & Now: Sat. Jan. 10 at Maja Prentice Theatre

ree

Four short films. Four new ways of seeing Muslim history in Canada.

Join us for the premiere screening of four original documentaries created by emerging Muslim filmmakers through Muslim Media Hub’s 2025 Short Film Lab.

Over ten weeks, they researched community archives, uncovered overlooked histories, and crafted powerful films about the first Muslims who made a life here, including the struggles they faced and the ways they held on to faith and community while finding their place in Canada.

Each film offers a vivid glimpse into lives that shaped the foundation of Muslim life in Canada and continue to inspire the next generation.

After the screenings, take part in a conversation exploring what these stories tell us about identity, memory, and the importance of reclaiming our own history.

Tickets: Register on Eventbrite. Pay-what-you-can (suggested minimum donation: $10)
