As we prepare for our upcoming Short Film Lab this April, we're thrilled to start introducing the talented instructors who'll be leading the way. Starting off with Eman Pathan, a producer based in Mississauga with a passion for storytelling that hits close to home. Eman's work beautifully navigates the complex themes of home, identity, and belonging—themes that resonate deeply in today's world. She's the creative force behind "Kashif," a short film that was an Official Selection at prestigious festivals including the Toronto International Reel Asian Film Festival and TIFF Next Wave Film Festival.
Eman is also the Chief Financial Officer at the Future of Film Showcase, a film festival in Toronto that lifts up young, emerging Canadian filmmakers. With a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Media Arts from York University and a Master’s degree in Management from the Schulich School of Business, Eman's aim is to make Canadian content more accessible and to platform the diversity of stories from Canada.
At our Short Film Lab, Eman will guide participants through the Pre-production Essentials, sharing her valuable insights. Her journey is inspiring, and we're excited for the opportunity to learn from her expertise.
Keep an eye out for announcements on the other incredible instructors who will be joining our Short Film Lab soon!
