A Special Visit—MP Rechie Valdez

We were delighted to welcome the Honourable Rechie Valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and MP for Mississauga–Streetsville, to Muslim Media Hub!

Minister Valdez toured our space, learned more about our work in media, storytelling, and training, and met our Canada Summer Jobs staff. Given her own background in television as a host and producer, we especially appreciated the opportunity to share our efforts to bring more voices and stories into Canadian media.

Minister Valdez is also the first Filipino woman elected to Canada’s Parliament.
