
Pocket Films Summer Camp
Make a Short Film on Your Phone

A hands-on summer filmmaking camp for Muslim youth ages 12 and up.
At Pocket Films Summer Camp, campers work together to create a short film from start to finish using their phones, professional filmmaking equipment, and editing tools at Muslim Media Hub. Over the course of the week, they will learn the basics of storytelling, filming, and editing while exploring the theme of Environmentalism through collaborative creative work.
This camp is ideal for youth who want to build skills, express themselves creatively, and experience the excitement of making a film in a fun and welcoming environment.

Camp Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Pick-up: 3:30-4:00 pm
Ages: 12+
Fee: $400
Location: Muslim Media Hub, 27 Pearl Street, Mississauga
*Minimum enrolment is required for the camp to run. If sufficient registration is not reached, Muslim Media Hub reserves the right to cancel the camp and issue a full refund.
What Campers Will Do
Throughout the week, campers will move through the key stages of filmmaking:

Storytelling and Scriptwriting
Campers will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and work together to build characters, shape a story, and develop a short script.

Editing
Campers will be introduced to editing and sound, then work together to shape their footage into a finished short film.

Filming
Campers will learn basic filming techniques and shoot their scenes in groups, bringing their ideas to life in creative ways.

Screening
On the final day, campers will celebrate their work with a special screening.
